Packaging & Delivery Policy
If you are wondering about our packaging & delivery process, please read the information below.
This documentation is in place to protect both you as the recipient of the service, and us as the provider.
If you have any queries then please feel free to contact us.
Please Note: We do not deliver to PO Boxes and remote rural areas (such as farms). If this applies to you then please contact us so we can help you to arrange a plan.
How Do We Prepare & Package Your Order?
Step 1: We measure and harvest the healthiest and strongest cuttings from the plants that you have purchased.
Step 2: We neaten them up and label each one by hand.
Step 3: We pack them carefully in biodegradable and compostable packaging and include a printed invoice/receipt.
Step 4: We seal the package and take it off to our logistics partners who will then deliver the parcel safely to you.
Have a look below:
*Please note that while we ensure our packages are completely biodegradable and compostable, sometimes our logistics partners add plastic materials (such as tape or stickers). We are trying our best to convince them to convert to plastic-free packaging but this may take time. We recommend either recycling the plastic or adding them to an Eco-Brick.
When & How Often Do We Send Out Orders?
We send out orders every Monday (year round).
When You Can Expect Your Order To Arrive
As a general rule, you can expect your parcel to arrive within 2-5 working days after the next dispatch date.
The main centers/cities (Johannesburg, Durban, East London, Port Elizabeth, George, Cape Town, and Bloemfontein) should receive parcels on Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday.
All other cities and towns are considered regional centers and should receive parcels between Wednesday and Friday, in certain instances parcels may arrive sooner than Wednesday.
While almost all orders do arrive in the same week as they are dispatched, please bear in mind that we cannot guarantee this. Certain towns that are further off the main routes may experience a slight delay.
Therefore, there is a slim possibility that your parcel may not arrive by close of business on Friday (17:00/5PM). If this happens to be the case, do not stress or panic.
This means that your delivery is still en route. In such an instance your parcel should arrive early the following week (usually on Monday). This is due to the fact that our logistics partners do not operate on weekends.
Once again, please don’t worry, you can rest assured that your plants will be safe and shall arrive in good condition at their destination. They will all be cuddling snuggly together excitedly awaiting their arrival.
If you’re wanting a little peace of mind then you can always consult the Online Tracking portal to see exactly where your parcel is (you will receive the details when we dispatch your order – more details in the following section).
Order Delivery Tracking
First off, we recommend adding info@plantshopafrica.co.za to your email contacts list. This is a quick and easy process, regardless of whether you are using Gmail, Outlook, or another service. Our emails almost always arrive however doing this will ensure that your Delivery Tracking email reaches your inbox and is not incorrectly labelled as spam. Email services do make mistakes sometimes.
You’ll receive an email from us once your parcel is with our logistics partner and they have begun the process of delivering it to you. The email will supply you with Tracking Details so that you can conveniently track the delivery progress of your order online.
Below is an example of the tracking process:
Receipt of Parcel
To make 100% sure that you receive your precious parcel, please ensure that you are aware of the following:
► Important – Ensure a person is present to sign got and receive the parcel:
Due to the complex logistical nature of deliveries it is impossible to give an exact day and time that your parcel will arrive. Nevertheless, tracking your order’s delivery progress will make it easier to have an educated idea of when it might arrive.
Regardless, it is necessary that you ensure a person is present at the Shipping Address that you provided during all weekdays (Monday to Friday) following your receipt of the Tracking Email. Deliveries are made between 8AM/08:00 in the morning and 17:00/5PM in the afternoon.
► Double-check first name, surname, and contact number of recipient:
If somebody else will be receiving your parcel on your behalf (be it one of your employees, friends, or family members) you would have been prompted to give the relevant person’s first name, surname, and contact number during checkout.
You can make sure you did this by double-checking the ‘Note’ section in the Order Details table lower down in the first email you received after placing your order. It will be titled, “Order Successful at Plant Shop Africa (Payment Received)”. The section will be below the order ‘Total’ section.
The section is a way down in this email so a shortcut is to hold down the CTRL button and press the F key (on windows) or hold ⌘ + F (on Mac) to open the search tool, and type ‘Note’. Press the enter button until you find the section.
If you do not see the ‘Note’ field containing their relevant details, then you neglected to enter the recipient’s details at checkout.
Please reply to this email immediately with their first name, surname, and contact number so that we can speedily pass this information on to our delivery partner.
The delivery service calls recipients on the day of delivery (usually a short time before delivery is due to take place). In this regard, we cannot be held responsible for failure to deliver orders if we or our delivery partners cannot get hold of you.
